ADVERTISING DISCLAIMER

This Agreement was last modified on May 4th, 2023.

First off, you’re all awesome. And so is spearfishing.

Max Spearfishing is a labor of love, as we review the best products for the sport we all love. Everything in the site has either been personally used by one of our team, or is something we highly recommend. Like, proper recommend. Like what you’d tell your best mate or little brother to buy.

That being said, we sometimes earn a small commission from our listings.

Here’s the full disclaimer:

Affiliate Disclosure

Back in 2015, new rules for Disclosure Compliance were released by the FTC.

In short, these are a set or rules that help viewers of any online media understand if what they’re looking at has been paid for. Like sponsored posts, endorsements, or even if there’s a partnership in place.

What that means is websites, just like Max Spearfishing, need to make it clear if they’re making money by sharing a link to a product or service.

In full compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume that any and all links on the website MaxSpearfishing.com are affiliate links, and we may receive a small compensation if you click one of these and make a purchase.

What’s an affiliate link?

Think of it like a sales person’s commission. If you like one of the products you see on our website, and then click the link before purchasing the item, when you buy it we get a small bit of compensation for the sale.

As a consumer you still pay the exact same price.

It doesn’t matter if you make your purchases through an affiliate or non-affiliate link, you do not pay any more by clicking.

On our website we use a variety of affiliate programs:

Scuba.com:

Max Spearfishing is a participant in the Scuba.com Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to www.scuba.com.

What this means is Scuba.com gives us a small commission on products that get sold through their affiliate links, and each purchase you make helps support our time maintaining this website, at no additional cost to you.

Anytime you see a link that looks like www.scuba.com/…. this is an affiliate link.

If you click it and then buy something from Scuba.com in the next 24 hours, we’ll get a small commission from the sale.

Specific product affiliates:

Again, these types of affiliate links work the same way. If you like one of the products and you click the link to buy, Max Spearfishing will earn either a percentage of the sale or another type of compensation.

Things like specific spearfishing equipment, training courses and gear usually contain affiliate links. Again, the prices are no different if you click these affiliate links.

I say this again. You will not pay more for an item by clicking a link.

All you’re doing is helping to provide our team at Max Spearfishing with the funds we need to keep our website updated.

How about sponsored content?

From time-to-time we may write sponsored content, and it will be clearly disclosed in the beginning of the post which company has paid for the content. We will also clearly state across all of our social media platforms that this is indeed an #ad, so there will be no confusion to our readers.

On the right hand side of our website we also have a section for sponsors, these are paid ads from specific companies.

We have received compensation for placing these here, however (just like all of our content) we only recommend the best products that our team either uses themselves, or would recommend to their families and close friends.

Our goal is (and will always remain) to provide the absolute best information for your spearfishing adventures, so you can enjoy the sport, and catch some once-in-a-lifetime fish. Coz that’s what it’s all about, right?
